Born in the province of Korat in Nakhonratchasima, Thailand, on Feb. 10, 1969. Kumpa moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1996. Today, Kumpa lives Safety Harbor Fl, and his studio is a few miles away in Safety Harbor, where he creates.

Kumpa Tawornprom has a degree in Architectural Design from the Royal Thai Academy, and art from Staynt Petersburg College, in Clearwater fl. and is also a Master Sculptor and Painter with many years of experience. Kumpa’s traditional approach to his work lends itself to a timeless sense of beauty to any project he is committed too.

He's made sculptures for companies like Disney, Warner Brothers, Busch Gardens, Nickelodeon and the Ringling Brothers Circus. a variety of mediums, including Styrofoam, fiberglass, epoxy, wood, acrylic, paint and even chalk!

other projects have included a giant pink elephant that welcomed crowds to Safety Harbor’s 2015 Songfest (which now hangs out at nearby Casa Loco) His giant reptiles adorns the South Tampa Green Iguana, and a dolphin for Frenchy’s South Beach portrays afinny tourist with a straw hat and sunglasses. If you stroll around downtown Safety Harbor, it would be hard put not to run into one of Kumpa’s works.

A 10-foot guitar hangs from the ceiling in Brady’s Backyard BBQ and a 5-foot-tall red-eye tree frog, along with a mural, can be spotted at Green Springs restaurant.

He’s painted commemorative grapefruits on two storefronts and even some dumpsters. One project is still in progress: a 40-foot-long bench for Tupelo on Fourth, a collaboration with boutique owner Melissa Haist.

The sculptor and painter designs stand-up paddleboards.

Kumpa is a professional chalk artist member of the Florida Chalk Artist Association and has been doing chalk art for years. Being from Thailand, he likes to share the Thai culture style of art called Line Thai. Common examples of Line Thai can be found on Buddhist temple walls and Thai decor.

Kumpa has utilized his talents to create incredible pieces in a variety of mediums, including paint, chalk, metal, wood, stone and pencil. He now primarily works with large scale industrial Styrofoam.
